Yes, there are some controversial tactics taught in the course, no one is trying to hide that, but there are plenty of totally above the board tactics in the course such as the ones I used to get ranked so quickly that are worth their weight in gold. It's up to each individual to use the concepts they feel comfortable with and use them in a responsible manner..

Re: The Darkside of DotComSecrets

Are these "cutting edge" techniques viable for a solid long term business marketing strategy? or just a "get results fast" and then walk away leaving footprints that search engine like Google will have certainly noticed and results in your sites not being ranked anymore? I'm going to be speaking to a group online in July where we'll be using Webinar to walk through some magalogs. Since I have to prepare some magalogs for that presentation anyway, I'll use a program like Jing to do a desktop recording for YouTube prior to that.

Thanks for the comments.

Re: Video Marketing on YouTube

Hi Mike,
I went over to YouTube and watched the two video's you have posted there. I thought the first one you did came across a little more relaxed and genuine, although the second one was pretty good as well. Keep in mind that your video's do not have to be head shots of you talking. A lot of video advertising experts are recommending short video advertisements using your voice along with a power point presentation. These are much easier to make, and edit. I can see you doing one in which you walk your potential clients though what a magalog is, while showing actual examples as you talk. Any way, great job and keep up the good work!
Mark

Re: Video Marketing on YouTube

Hi Mark,

I'm new to using YouTube for my business. At the moment, it's not something I enjoy a lot. I know it doesn't have to be fancy, but there's always that part of me that's looking for the "perfect" take.

I did recently put a video on my site explaining my project consultation process. In that case, I could see the value in someone being able to get a feel for me before we talk on the phone.

I suppose I'll get better at it as I go along.

One area that I do enjoy, somewhat related to YouTube, is an audio podcast. I finally got that running on iTunes. Having a radio background, I guess I'm more comfortable in that realm.

While not quite as personal as a video, it still has the advantage of helping prospects get a feel for you. And at least in my niche, it certainly helps me to stand out.

Re: Dare to dream BIG!

Hi Mark,
I like the way Robert Kiyosaki of Rich Dad, Poor Dad puts it.
